Considers the apparent conflict between our high estimates for the number of planets that could support life, both in the Milky Way and the Universe as a whole, but a total lack of clear, obvious evidence that such life exists. It raises the question as to how eager should we Earthlings be, to advertise our presence to the Galaxy?
